Dear AOWA Members,

Many of you have been so gracious in the past to volunteer at a moment’s notice.  The Association’s events have been so successful because of your hard work and support.  In addition, we listened to your feedback and we understand more of you would like to be involved on a regular basis.  GREAT NEWS!  We have several opportunities available for you to volunteer.  Please see the list of committees and descriptions below and let me know in which area(s) you might be interested.

Membership

The Membership Committee focuses on increasing our membership base to support the Association’s initiatives and objectives and on sharing our knowledge and collective industry experience with others.  The Committee keeps an accurate and up-to-date current membership roster and member contact information.  The Webmaster keeps the AOWA webpage current and sends out email blasts and notifications to our members regarding upcoming events.

Networking/Social/Volunteer

The Networking Committee schedules, plans and executes events throughout the year which are designed to encourage fellowship among our members, to educate our members by providing relevant and timely industry information and to raise funds in order to give back to our community.  Members of the Networking Committee also call upon businesses to donate items for door prizes and give-a-ways at various events.  In addition the Committee seeks volunteers to participate at AOWA events to ensure the success of the event.

Regulatory/Legal/Legislative

The mission of the Regulatory Committee is to stay abreast of current regulatory issues which directly affect our members whether on a local or a national level.  The Regulatory Committee is responsible for sharing relevant news and information with the members.  Members of this committee may represent our Association on a local, state and national level on matters which impact our industry.

Safety

The mission of the Safety Committee is to share best practices and relevant information to our members in an effort to prevent accidents and fatalities.  Separate “safety seminars” may be held throughout the year which are organized apart from the Networking Committee.
